As TEAM LEADER of my schools Technology Team, we were blessed with a total of 14 (fourteen) trophies at this years Alabama Central Technology Fairs, Individually I was given 6 of these awards. I personally adapted and/or tweaked the script coding. I won first place in designing a web browser in Visual Basic. Also, I won second place for designing a web portfolio. As a team we won first place for designing a customized media player. Also we were awarded third for designing a business advertising web site. And invited to the state finals. We brought home Third place trophies in the State Finals.

I was also given the Most Outstanding Center for Advanced Tech/Computer Student award, it was given for my understanding of computer programming, coding, scripting and maintaining a very high A average and excelling overall in this subject.

I appreciated being trusted with the responsibility of setting up, creating, maintaining and moderation our schools:
    - AP Calculus website
    - Algerbra III website.

  • EXPLAIN YOUR REASONS FOR CHOSSING A CAREER IN THE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY CAREER FIELD

My major course of study is C.A.T., the center for advanced technology class. I enjoy hands on working with computers, and programs. My magnet / major is technology and I believe it will make a challenging career.

  • WHAT IS YOUR PLAN FOR COLLEGE TRAINING? :

This is totally dependent on available scholarships and grants. I plan to go where ever my money will take me, whether it be to state college or Ivy league. Stanford University would give me a better degree of training. But barring that I opt for Auburn University. I intend to double major in Computer Information Systems and Marine Biology, while drawing a minor in Education.

  • EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES (INCLUDE MEMBERSHIP IN ORGANIZATIONS AND SPORTS):

The full list of organizations I participate in are listed above. I am a pure academics student. I pride myself in making good use of my time, so there is not much time or interest in sports .

Nevertheless, there have been some after school activities I've really enjoyed. For example, I was trusted with and given the opportunity by my school and Mrs. Wones, a math advisor, to teach and TUTOR an after school Algebra III classes.

This came about after I volunteered to help out wherever and however I could be of use.

So, I started by coming an hour early to school, to do individual student tutoring. I felt it was only right, because my teachers have so frequently given the gift of themselves and their time to me and so many other students.

Later, I was given a classroom, every Wednesday afternoon, after school, by my school and Mrs. Wones, the Algebra III advisor, to do group Algebra III teaching and tutoring after school classes. I also continued the daily individual morning tutoring.

Math is something that I have always enjoyed. In fact, this year I am taking three different math based subjects: AP Calculus Algebra III, and Physics.

Although its not an after school activity, I was also given the honor of becoming TEACHING ASSISTANT to my Computer Technology advisor, Mr. Cowles. This responsibility is very fulfilling to me. It is something I really enjoy. The class is comprised of mostly sophomores and juniors. I am now, and will be assisting and teaching in visual basic, hardware, and web based scripting until the end of the school year.

I have volunteered multiple hours and participated in many school and community activities where I have earned many letters of appreciation for the work done.

Right now, being that it is so close to graduation the main focus of my time is spent preparing for college.

  • HAVE YOU HELD ANY PART-TIME JOB WITH A BUSINESS WHILE ATTENDING SCHOOL?

    Yes

  • IF YES, DESCRIBE:

At the moment, I have a FULL-time job as a Master Cashier.
Last summer I was also working as a Information Technology Intern,
with Unisys Corporation Federal Information Systems.
This job came with a United States Department of Defense Secret Grade Security Clearance I did this in addition to tutoring adults for College classes and being a full time student at school. And, Yes I did ALL these things at the SAME time. I believe it will give me more experience with dealing with people in the real world. I think that is a very real and necessary skill that is often overlooked.

This is what I do ... and I am VERY good at it.

I guess my main point is that I am excellent at multi-tasking.
And that I am a Classic Results Orientated Overachiever.

  • HOW DO YOU USUALLY SPEND YOUR SUMMERS:

This summer I plan to to be working, Usually my summers are spent rebuilding computers, working with web design projects, and catching up on really good books, by my favorite and other select popular writers.

Some of my time this summers will also be spent in improving and horning my automotive skills, at times even rebuilding engines. After all, a girl can never really know to much.
